happy halloween

It's Halloween! It might be my least favorite holiday, but it makes me happy to see my kids so excited about their costumes. We had a lot of fun putting them together this year and I am looking forward to taking their pictures all dressed up with our real camera later today. But first this morning we have an elementary costume parade to attend. And maybe some doughnuts to eat. And then a nap to take. :)

Be safe out there tonight!

  1. Our trick or treat days are done, except for handing out candy since we only have college-aged daughters, but I have such fond memories of Halloweens from as far back as my own childhood. Love the costume parades which our schools here have no longer had for a very long time sadly. Looking forward to seeing photos of your kids in their adorable costumes.

    Have a great day,

  2. I'm with you. I'm not overly enthused about Halloween. I don't mind it, I just don't go nutty! My five are all grown and it's a relief to not have to worry about costumes, I have to be honest! I do love answering the door and seeing the littles from the neighborhood come around though. They bring back happy memories with my own!

  3. Bobbing for doughnuts on a stick looks really fun! I love that you are eating doughnuts. There is nothing like a good one. Speaking of which, I sometimes comment when you talk about books because I teach college English and am crazy about books. One of the best books that I have ever, ever read is The Hiding Place by Corrie Ten Boom. It's holocaust in a way - she was a Christian who hid Jews. The mist compelling woman I can come across in a book in ages, and an extraordinary retelling of her experiences.
