Naming a baby is hard.

It's just so permanent. Mike and I have been having a hard time agreeing on names this time around.

So you can imagine my surprise when out of the wide open blue yesterday, Mike gave me the go ahead to name this baby whatever I wanted. Of course this immediately caused me to second guess the name I've been nearly begging him to choose for the past few months. After sleeping on it, I'm still not completely sure, but that didn't stop me from running to the craft store to pick up a big E today.

E is for Elliot.

  1. I LOVE the name Elliot. Go for it!

(My Grandpa's name is Elliot and he was a really amazing man. Should we ever have a boy, I would definitely consider naming my boy Elliot. It'a a great name.)

  4. It is SO hard. That is why we never decide until the baby is a couple of days old. I mean, we always have it narrowed down to a couple of choices. But it's never set in stone until we see the baby. I love the name Elliot.

  5. naming a child is hard. seriously. i don't have a kid yet, but i'm prego and my husband and i can't agree on ANY names. and then we finally do but i'm never sure. whatever name you give the kid will last forever. you can't regret it.

  12. i can't wait to meet baby elliot!! i just picture him as a mini Oliver. but i'm sure he'll be his own person. i'm so glad mike saw your vision for the name, it's a perfect fit with your family. though I'll have to get used to it with one T. i guess Uncle Elliott would know best though, that one T is preferable. oh i can't wait!!!

  18. I can make the title page to your baby book now. Elliot ? Court
Let me know the middle name if you have one. Grampy's middle name is Lee. Not suggesting that but with a 3 syllables you need one for the middle name. At least that is my opinion for what it is worth.
Love the name Elliot and we will refer to our Elliott's as one t or dbl t. Or baby Elliott and Uncle Elliott.
    Love and Hugs

  25. I feel honored. This is the first time anyone has named someone after me (or a family name that I also happen to share). This is totally going on my resume.

Let me also add that I am a fan of this post's comments, with all these people proclaiming their love for elliot(t)s. I like the name, Steph, and that you're doing your part to keep it in the boys' category. The Elliot(t)s of the world thank you.
