Naming a baby is hard.
It's just so permanent. Mike and I have been having a hard time agreeing on names this time around.
So you can imagine my surprise when out of the wide open blue yesterday, Mike gave me the go ahead to name this baby whatever I wanted. Of course this immediately caused me to second guess the name I've been nearly begging him to choose for the past few months. After sleeping on it, I'm still not completely sure, but that didn't stop me from running to the craft store to pick up a big E today.
E is for Elliot.

ReplyDelete(My Grandpa's name is Elliot and he was a really amazing man. Should we ever have a boy, I would definitely consider naming my boy Elliot. It'a a great name.)
Cool name. E is a good first letter. :)
ReplyDeleteLike it! Dont you have a brother named Elliot?
ReplyDeleteIt is SO hard. That is why we never decide until the baby is a couple of days old. I mean, we always have it narrowed down to a couple of choices. But it's never set in stone until we see the baby. I love the name Elliot.
ReplyDeletenaming a child is hard. seriously. i don't have a kid yet, but i'm prego and my husband and i can't agree on ANY names. and then we finally do but i'm never sure. whatever name you give the kid will last forever. you can't regret it.

I really love the name Elliot too. I want to see what you are going to do with that letter E, I might have to go pick up a letter myself and do something similar.

ReplyDeleteGood thing you are choosing the spelling you are. It will make his life easier... no one ever spell's Elliott's name correctly.
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited you are having a boy... I hope I'm having one too. Wouldn't that be fun for the cousins?
And I wonder what Mimi is having???
Great name! Monkey Mae was nameless for the first day of her life...it took us forever to agree on her name!
ReplyDeletei love love love Elliot. it was on my short list. also, it gives me E.T. memories, and thats not a bad thing.
ReplyDeletei can't wait to meet baby elliot!! i just picture him as a mini Oliver. but i'm sure he'll be his own person. i'm so glad mike saw your vision for the name, it's a perfect fit with your family. though I'll have to get used to it with one T. i guess Uncle Elliott would know best though, that one T is preferable. oh i can't wait!!!
ReplyDeleteOh yay! I love Elliot. And it goes so well with your other kids' names.

ReplyDeleteI can make the title page to your baby book now. Elliot ? Court
ReplyDeleteLet me know the middle name if you have one. Grampy's middle name is Lee. Not suggesting that but with a 3 syllables you need one for the middle name. At least that is my opinion for what it is worth.
Love the name Elliot and we will refer to our Elliott's as one t or dbl t. Or baby Elliott and Uncle Elliott.
Love and Hugs
Grammy
