This week I had the brilliant idea to make myself a new jumper. It only cost me $15 worth of fabric and one quiet time*. I think it's cute. And not at all nerdy or matronly or missionary-like (Don't you think jumpers get a bad rap these days?). I used this Old Navy dress we just picked up for Mabel as inspiration.
What do you think? Would you wear it? And are you as obsessed with paisley home decorating fabric as I apparently am?
*quiet time is when my kids either nap or read in bed for an hour or two. We all need a break from each other sometimes, you know?
I love it and I would definitely wear it.
ReplyDeleteOnce the weather starts to hint at warm, I slip into my skirts and dresses and wear them until late fall.
Great job!
I like the jumper! And really like the idea of making one. I must admit I'm giving the paisley design some thought and am not sure if I'm back into paisley patterns just yet...I'm flashing back to some shorts I had in high school in the late 80's... However, I do love all things retro so I could follow suit!
ReplyDeleteDarling! You have great taste.
ReplyDeletecute! especially the picture of you pressing! mom
ReplyDeleteI went to private school growing up so jumpers automatically remind me of those days : ) I like them though, and yours is very cute.
ReplyDeleteThe jumper is very cute and it looks great on you! I'd have to day that I also dispise pressing, unfortunantly I haven't found a way around it yet.

ReplyDeleteToday during quiet time I'm cutting out the girls' Easter dresses... I'm kind of enjoying garment sewing these days. Such a foreign thing! :-)
Totally cute! I am impressed with your awesome skills!
ReplyDeletehow much do you charge?
ReplyDeleteVery cute. I totally wore jumpers on my mission, but I think they were kind-of stylish-not the denim tents.
ReplyDeleteWow! That is adorable and I LOVE paisley fabric. You are SO talented!
ReplyDeleteI have that same striped bag.. I think I got it from B&BW for free with purchase. :) I use it all the time!

ReplyDeleteVery cute dress and pictures!
ReplyDeletealright, are you taking orders, because i would wear it in a heartbeat. oh that i could hang out with you during one said quiet time - the sewing we could accomplish! (oh and we have quiet time at this house, too. unfortunately, i don't get much sewing done, since mr. ethan isn't complying with the rules and regulations of quiet time yet. soon though...)
ReplyDeleteSteph, I think you could wear anything and it would look cute on you. This summer I'm gonna add a few dresses to my ward drobe--I've got too many skirts.
ReplyDeleteThat is very cute- and I like the inspiration dress too. And I LOVE quiet time- you have inspired me to try it again. I stopped when Emma stopped taking naps, but I think if your kids can have quiet time, mine can too. Maybe I will get some sewing done too then? Really cute- thanks for sharing your stuff on your blog!
ReplyDeleteLove it - it's adorable, and I wished I had one. Can you make it in denim? Just kidding.
