There is nothing better than a tightly swaddled baby.
I don't think you non-swaddlers know what you are missing.
Not only does swaddling make babies ooze contentment, but it turns them into a nice little package that is so easy to carry.
For Stella's swaddle, I used large square pieces of jersey fabric.
These blankets (which I discovered shortly after her swaddling days ended) are also fabulous.

i loved your swaddling tutorial when i found it several months ago (when we were still swaddling)... i ran out and bought some wonderful jersey knits (thermal knit works well too) that kept lukie swaddled longer than would have been possible with those silly receiving blankets.
ReplyDeleteoh that picture. seriously.
ReplyDeletethese posts are coming at the PERFECT time for me - I can't wait to put them all into use. especially the swaddling tutorial.
ReplyDeletelove that picture of stella, and i'm hoping to try those blankets with my next baby. thanks for tips!
ReplyDeleteSwaddling is awesome, especially since all the doctors recommend sleeping babies on their backs. We swaddled Emma until she was 8 months old! Yes, she could get out, and many times did, but it still gave her that security she liked to feel.
ReplyDeleteLOVE swaddling! Tucker still can't get to sleep without it.
ReplyDeleteWho can resist a swaddled baby - I am a believer and supporter, but have never tried the jersey fabric. Next kid won't know what hit em' they will be so cozy and tight. I loved the tutorial. Stella is a peach. Keep making babies - they are the cutest things I've ever seen.
ReplyDeleteI REALLY hope the next baby is a swaddle loving little bundle. Finn FREAKED out when I swaddled him, or snuggled him to tight. But I love the look of a little swaddled pea in a pod!
ReplyDeleteCan I just tell you how much I love this picture?
ReplyDeleteYes, those blankets are the PERFECT swaddling blankets. (Pretty much the perfect blanket, period.) I LOVE the one you sent me and have been meaning for weeks now to get a card in the mail and thank you for it. It's one of the best baby gifts I've ever received. THANKS!!!
ReplyDeleteAh, I'm drooling over those swaddling blankets. Baby number two and number four HAD to be swaddled in order to sleep. Since number four is just four is just five weeks old, I think I'm going to have to give in and order some.
