a month of thanksgiving


Happy November! It's my most favorite month of the whole year! Not only does our weather improve drastically in November, but today marks the beginning of my month of Thanksgiving. Every year, during the month of November, I focus on gratitude, and then I post here on my blog something I am thankful for, every day for the whole month. I've been doing it for years and it's the best thing I do for myself. It puts my challenges into perspective, makes me more content, and definitely brings me a lot of joy. Plus, feeling extreme gratitude and contentment is a really great way to enter the holiday season. Have you ever tried it? Why don't you do it along with me? I promise you will see a happy difference in your life.

And so, I am thankful for November, for the opportunity it gives me to take stock of my life and focus on all of the really fortunate blessings I've been given.

We had Kip from Napoleon Dynamite and a banana.


And a really sweet Dorothy and an Obi Wan Kanobi.

The kids had a lot of fun, but I am always so glad when Halloween is over. :)

    Even though I'm typically a summer-girl, November is my favorite month. It's my birth month, so I feel very connected to it for a number of reasons. Here of course, in the Midwest, I don't know that we can say the weather gets better, ha ha - since it can be very very cold and even snowy though that's kind of unusual anymore for our Novembers. Instead, we're enjoying lovely low 80s today for November 1st which is very unseasonably warm for us here in Central Illinois. Anyway.... your children look so cute in their costumes. Happy November. :)

    And isn't it time for your pumpkin recipes as well? or did i miss that...
    November has something so special about it. I agree. And it is such a memory lane experience for a Momma.
    Grateful for words, language, religion, perspective. Love the words in John Mayer's - Say:
    "Take all of your wasted honor
    Every little past frustration
    Take all of your so-called problems,
    Better put 'em in quotations."
