the bathrooms

As promised, some extremely poorly-lit bathroom photos for your perusal.

Now that all of the kids sleep downstairs, the old downstairs guest bathroom has become the kids' bathroom. So it needed something a little more durable than an 80 year old dresser turned sink. I like the one we chose from the Home Decorator's Collection via the Home Depot.

Moving on. . .

The upstairs hall bathroom has become the new guest bathroom, so we brought the old dresser upstairs. Hopefully this is the last time we have to replumb it, although if we ever move, it is coming with us. I love it so.

I'm afraid we ripped out everything that was practical in this bathroom (like the peeling, dingy lineoleum floor that somehow in its dinginess never showed a speck of dirt and the very water-proof faux-marble countertop). But it is so much prettier now!

All we need are some guests.

  2. It looks gorgeous. Good job! Love the color you decided on, and how you can see your bed in that shot. It is the little details i love most in the way you do everything.

  3. Gorgeous! I am still on the hunt for a dresser to make into a sink for our half bathroom. Yours turned out perfect.

  4. well done. so pretty. i have those same soap/lotion dispensers but here in my VA humidity, they are rusting, which makes me so sad. they are much more suited to your dry AZ air.

  6. we went with a vanity from home decorators collection too. As usual, i forgot to take a before picture of our awful bath. And ours is not at all a diy thing. We had the whole thing gutted, dry wall down, electrical re done, plumbing re done. excited to have it finished soon!

  9. I don't blame you a bit for wanting to take the dresser-sink - it is lovely; and the shower curtain is so sweet (we have the blue version!).

  12. Nice. I love the wooden counter and sink. Lovely, functional and homey. I just finished a big deep cleaning of a few spaces. Now to move on to the fun of redecorating and renovating. Starting with my pantry...
