late to the party

Sometimes I need a quick and cheap project to do around the house. The door to our garage was getting pretty dinged up. It had seen whiter days, so on a whim we covered it with chalkboard paint. Is chalkboard paint even still "in"? I don't know. But these kids sure are having fun with it. I have to admit, it's nice to have a humongous space for a to-do list, too.

  1. This is such a cool idea! If only I didn't absolutely cringe at even the thought of chalk and chalkboards (dry erase boards were made for me, but they're definitely trickier to make serviceable for kids)..

  2. We have one on our pantry door. Love it. We had to put doors on all the kid's closets. It was cheaper to buy the flat ones and we painted them really cool colors of chalkboard paint. The girls have bright pink! Jake has grey. His choice.

  3. We have talked about doing the exact same thing to our door to the garage. It has also had a rough life. I bet your kids love it! The only thing that's kept me from doing it is that chalk seems to make a big mess. Have you had a problem with that?

  4. Good idea. Grampy just went down to Home Depot to get some chalkboard paint to paint this big piece of board that has a base on it so that when the kids come they can draw on it. It is out on our deck. Not looking forward to the chalk dust but I will manage.
Such a cute picturel Love those little faces.

  5. Love it! :)

They just painted a wall in our church nursery so you must not be late to the party at all. My little E comes out of there all covered in colorful dust...he loves it.

  6. I think it's cool. And when you think about it, the best guests are always late to the party anyway. Chalkboard walls and doors and awesome forever in my book.
