My little kids are napping and I have one hour before my big kids get home from school. Do I take a quick nap myself? Or finally hop in the shower and get dressed for the day? Do I finish the laundry, or dust the living room?
Such is my daily dilemma.
p.s. What do you like to do while your kids are napping?
I have 30 minutes between shifts (babies napping and big kids getting off the bus) so I make a cup of tea and read blogs..of course :)
ReplyDeleteThat yawning face is too cute. He is absolutely adorable.
ReplyDeleteI take a quick cat nap, blog, work on some kind of craft, or catch up on one of my guilty pleasure shows. :)
ReplyDeleteI miss that guy! Naptime is when I try to get laundry done. It's so much easier when I'm not holding Henry.
ReplyDeleteI take a second to breath and ask myself what would make ME happiest.....it varies day to day.....sometimes if I have to look at the crumbs underneath the table one more second, I might go insane....or if I don't shut my eyes...things could get ugly....different day to day!
ReplyDelete(Hi....by the way:))

I struggle between cleaning the kitchen, folding clothes, wasting time on the computer or relaxing and watching an episode of Psych.
ReplyDeletemy youngest is in kindergarten (finally!), so i have some of my mornings off - when i'm not running errands, i knit. and knit. and look at knitting patterns and ideas at ravelry.com. and then knit some more. or i read. or sew ridiculously fancy doll clothes for my daughters, or do hand applique, or work in the garden when there isn't a foot of snow on it.
ReplyDeletemost cleaning and such waits till the kids are home to help - they have to learn how to do it, and everyone in the family helps.
I either a)take a nap myself, b)take a shower and enjoy some alone time or c)fold laundry while watching one of "my" movies. I am so grateful my children still nap. If it's up to me, they will until they go to 1st grade!
ReplyDeleteI definitely always have some me-time, as well. I rest for a little bit of it and try to sneak in some creative time with an afternoon cup of tea. I am ready for the kids to wake up, and am a much better mama for it!
ReplyDeletetriple threat: fold laundry while watching some show and paging through a british magazine that mom left here. :)
ReplyDeleteleslie, that sounds heavenly.
ReplyDeletestephanie, he's adorable. also, i love your rug - we are currently rug shopping (our entire main level is hardwood, so we need some softness about) - will you share where you found it?
Sometimes I knit, sometimes I do wash or dishes, sometimes i catch up on something I dvr'd.
ReplyDeleteOn the rare occasion this actually does happen. . . I like to sew or read a good book. Just sitting down and listening to the quiet is pretty nice.
ReplyDeleteI don't have naptime anymore, but twice a week both girls are in school and I always try to do some errands/clean and something for myself as well. I love going to lunch or reading a book/watching a favorite show. That way I feel productive and replenished. :)
ReplyDeleteI just got to the point where my 6 month old and 3 year old take their afternoon naps at the same time, which gives me a whole hour to myself. I find usually rotate between napping myself, cleaning, cooking or blogging. Having to choose is such a delightful dilemma to have!
ReplyDeleteI'm 13 weeks pregnant with our first right now....I nap for at least an hour every day. Its a bad habit I should probably break. Some day, I may not have this luxury. Then again, maybe I should savor it while I can :)
ReplyDeleteBack in the day, I used to scrapbook during nap time. Unfortunately, my daughter only did napping until age two at which point she started staying up too late. I swiftly put an end to nap time.
ReplyDeletei will set my phone alarm for a 20 minute power nap and then get up and do some quick cleaning or waste it reading your blog... whichever.
ReplyDeleteI usually try to get a sewing project done or some reading. If I'm totally exhausted, I will try to nap, but it doesn't usually work out, lol. LOVE your blog, by the way, just found it today. :)
ReplyDeleteread your blog!
