She survived first grade.

But she was too sick to go to the last day of school today. There were lots of tears as we watched the entire first grade enjoy "water day" from our back gate. Life stinks sometimes.

Luckily, I have all of summer vacation to make it up to her.

First up on our list of fun things to do (as soon as we are all well enough, of course) is a trip to the store for a brand new pack of markers and some water balloons. It doesn't take much to keep us entertained around here.

i cried a little knowing my kindergartner was DONE. she had such a great teacher (who cried today as well).
it's tough watching our kids grow up.
good thing she has a mom determined to brighten her day. good luck on getting well.

  8. Poor thing :( Waterballoons will definitely help. Once it stops raining of course.

  9. Ah man. Seems like that always happens to Savannah- she gets sick for things like Valentines or Halloween. What luck that you are already done! We aren't done until June 5th.

  12. Ah poor Mabel! That must have been so sad for her! Markers and water balloons sound like fun- we got our "work" done and now I'm out of ideas. We bought a couple pool items last week for our summer, but it looks like we won't be using those for at least a few more days!
