The Glamorous Life of a Day Laborer

Mike and I set the nearly impossible goal of finishing our backyard by Thanksgiving. I'm not sure what we were thinking.

We have tons (literally) of dirt and gravel being delivered tomorrow.

So I have been digging. And raking. And installing bender board edging for the past three days straight.

My body hurts.
But I think our yard is going to look fabulous!

  2. Three cheers for landscaping!!! I hear ya on the sore muscles. I shoveled one (only 1) wheelbarrow of pebbles and I was sore for 3 days- In places I didn't even know I had muscles--so I can only imagine how sore you must be. The upside? Great workout: )Can't wait to see how great it looks!

  5. Sounds so nice! Wish we could have a backyard. I've put in so many hours of digging, racking, etc. and it still looks awful. Can't wait to see what it turns out like.

  7. The backyard is looking promising... I can see why your back hurts, but it will be a good hurt and worth it when everything is finished.
Now, where are the photos of the chicken coop?
PS Your children are growing so fast. Love seeing all the photos.
