Upper Back Fat and Other General Squishiness

Reason #5:
(This one isn't limited to gender.)

There just isn't anything sweeter than a new baby.

Mabel at a couple months

I love their little noises, their little faces, and their super heavenly smell.

I am so blessed to be having another one (it really didn't matter if it was a boy or a girl!). In this day, when it seems that infertility is everywhere I look, I am reminded again and again how lucky I am to be able to bear my children. My heart aches for those who cannot.

My children are my life and I like it that way. I love my role as a mother. There isn't anything I would rather do. I can't wait to meet Miss Stella and to see her personality emerge. She is making our family more complete. It is going to be fun (and sometimes stressful, I know) to have a new baby in the house.

But we are ready.

  3. about that new baby smell ... is it natural or a lotion or a type of baby food? 'cause i honestly don't think miss dub got it, even though she smells 'liscious to me anyway. but it's not your typical baby smell.

  5. Oh man, that picture is adorable! I really, really love the baby stage. With David I just remember thinking this is hard, but I love it!! I have pretty easy babies for the most part though!

  7. i was just thinking this morning while feeding gus super early that i loved kissing his cheeks and loved that smell of post-spit up. that's probably weird but at least it gives me a reason to get up with him at night.

also, this post makes me want to bring gus over more often. knowing how much you love little babies and already how much help you've been, i'm thinkin it's necessary.
(mabes is the cutest baby and it's so obviously her! how funny!)

  11. I agree with above ... almost makes me baby hungry. And I will be totally SHOT for ideas if we are to have a boy? I can only think of life with a girl baby ... Stella will be a lucky girl.
