Spring Cleaning

"It's not the tragedies that kill us, it's the messes."
Dorothy Parker

This fine spring day finds me in the midst of some mad spring cleaning.
With a visit from my parents this weekend,
and my sister next week,
there is much to be done.

You see, in my family I have a reputation for organization and cleanliness.
It is a lot to live up to.

Lest you begin to worry that I am working too hard
in my current pregnant/nauseous state
(I am only about 6 weeks along, by the way),
rest assured that I take many couch breaks.

And then I get inspired to clean some more.
Today's task: windows and dust

  2. i have an idea. when i'm there next week, you hold my little moe (you know how our babies can easily get us confused), and I'll clean! it's way more fun cleaning someone else's house. why is that . . .

in other words, don't worry about it. your house at its messiest is WAY cleaner than mine, but i guess that gets back to your whole cleanliness reputation.

  3. I love the pic? is that from the art of homemaking? it's one of my favorite reads, and a great source for some of my blogging material. glad to see someone else using it as a reference. don't clean too hard...

  5. I hear you on the spring cleaning thing. My current area of interest is my laundry room, which I am slowely in the process of completely revamping. For some reason it has become somewhat of a catch-all for our painting supplies. I would rather make it the new exit and entry for the kids from school so they stop dumping their backpacks in the front entry hall!

And, like Leslie, I am sure your messiest is nothing like my house when I think it is clean! :-)

  6. I've decided that I wish I could live with a messy house. Then, when it's clean, everyone would be pleasantly surprised. I also have a reputation for organization and cleanliness and sometimes it's a lot to keep up with!
