We are Hungry for Babies

We are very sad at our house because we don't have a new little baby yet. Mabel has even given up praying that I will have a baby in my tummy the next morning. (This request used to be included in all of her nightly prayers. Now she often tells me that it is taking me FOREVER to get pregnant. I feel like that, too.) So until we get one, Oliver promised me that he will be my "yiddle baby." Unfortunately, he's not so "yiddle". But I will take what I can get.

That is such a cute picture of Oliver pretending to be a baby.
Both Mabel and Oliver will always be your babies no matter how old they get. However, I know you want a little one to hold, cuddle and smell. It will happen.

Number 3 must be a girl because it sounds like she's planning a fashionably late arrival. But I know it will be worth the wait. Until then you can shnuggle with my "yiddle" one.

  4. Of all the girls and girls-in-law in Elliott's family.. you are the best "mommy". I think it stinks you are having to wait on having a wee little one too.
Sophie can be your stand in when you are here next week!

    dear stephanie,
i've been reading your blog for sometimes. we've been trying to have baby too.. so, i am gonna pray for both of us now.
You have wonderful kids, i wish i'll have a baby girl - be sweet as your Mabel. (unfortunately we're both black haired, so i can't wish for goldilocks...but still as sweet as yours would be great).
My only 3yr old boy still lets me cuddle him as baby - which is nice. But sometimes he protests and says "i am a big boy, ma".
You are a wonderful mother and should be blessed with many kids... My wishes and prays to you and your family... (sorry for the long comments).

  11. I know the feeling so well. I never even "wanted" a baby before... just felt like I "should" have one. Guess you always want what you can't have, but I've about given up!

You should not be sad. You should be counting your blessings. There are many who are not able to have children and there are many who have lost children.

  14. dear anonymous,
i know how blessed i am to have my two beautiful children. i am merely stating that i am sad that my plans for more children are not working out as i thought they would. i realize that i am a very lucky woman.
