When I first became a mother, I was 22 and lived in Provo. I was young. I was lonely. I lived in a tiny condo. And during the winter months, I was cold. So, while holding my new baby, I watched a lot of tv.
Now I am 27. I have two kids (neither of which is a baby, unfortunately). I live in a comfortable house in Arizona. And during the summer (and spring and fall) months, I am hot. I have since realized that we can't afford expanded cable.
So I blog.
Blogging has provided hours of enjoyment for me. But sometimes I blog too much.
So if you will excuse me, I have a date with Oliver and a Mr. Potato Head Bucket of Parts.

I don't think you have been blogging too much. But that does sound like a good date.
ReplyDeleteit's an addiction. I know! maybe we should start a blog for blog-addicts. oh, wait, maybe that would make it worse. . .
ReplyDeletePlease don't stop your blogging. It is the highlight of my day to see and hear about you and Abbie and Cathy and my grandkids. It's about time Danny and Lindsi start a blog.
ReplyDeleteI'm with nana - PLEASE don't stop blogging - I love reading your entries and feeling like I have another friend far, far away! :D
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your blog. You have a beautiful way of communicating the day-to-day joys and challenges of motherhood. Your posts almost always brighten my day. (But I do agree, if it's a choice between blogging and a date with your little man & Mr. Potato Head I'd have to choose the little man).
ReplyDeletewow, you guys, i am blushing! thanks for all of your nice comments. i have no plans to stop my blogging habit any time soon. i just meant that i will be trying to limit my computer time a wee bit.
ReplyDeleteit's weird how much we think alike steph. i was just thinking the other day, as the first anniversary of my blog approaches, of how sad it is that i am so attached to something that a year ago, i was completely fine and perfectly happy without. makes me wonder, makes me want to turn off the computer for a week. it would do us all good.
ReplyDeletei think you were the one that started all of this blogging madness, in our family anyway! i will always remember being in Budapest with dad and jooj and reading your first blog. they are all wonderful, but i think all of you young mothers need to watch how much your kids see you glued to a computer screen. they need to see you reading books too! mom
ReplyDeleteI love your blog Stephanie! You're fun and simple and do great posts. I understand what you are saying. I try *really* hard to just get on while Jaxon is taking a nap and do a quick round of blogs and post if I have one to post. I don't do that all the time, but that is what I know is best and am striving for. Your Mom's comment got me thinking to. I hope no one stops blogging, but does it only at the convenience of our children and not their sacrifice. Chellie
ReplyDeleteI have realized that I'm addicted too. I find myself spending hours on the computer every day. So, tell me how to limit my time - 'cause I've tried, and it's just too fun to stop!!
ReplyDeleteI'm so right there with you. And now I've found your blog, so that's more bloggy blog blog time for me. Great. Thanks a lot, Stephanie.
