for good books
I picked up a load of books that I'd reserved at the library this morning, including the newest in the adorable Little Elliot series. I am excited to dive into them. I am thankful for good books. I might be a minimalist at heart, but I don't think one can ever have too many books. If you are in need of something good to read, here is a list of some of my favorites (I hope you'll share yours in the comments!):
Ahab's Wife
Jane Eyre
All the Light We Cannot See
May the Road Rise Up to Meet You
The Greenlanders

Me too, I'm a bookie. :) One of my very favorites is Wallace Stegner's Crossing to Safety. I am reading the Betsy/Tacy series to my kids and we all love it! The books start with the friends at age 5 and go up through high school. We're on the one where they're 10, and we'll probably stop there for now since my oldest is 5 and he isn't super interested in teenage girls... :)
ReplyDeleteI've been meaning to check out All the Light We Cannot See. It's on my list!
I loved American Wife by Curtis Sittenfeld; Cutting for Stone by Abraham Verghese; One and the Same by Abigail Pogrebin and my favorite summer read is Barefoot by Elin Hildebrand.
ReplyDeleteYou're the only other person I know who's read "Greenlanders." Loved that book! Thanks for reminding me. I think I'm going to find it on my shelf and dust it off this week.
ReplyDeleteThe Lifeboat by Charlotte Rogan was my favorite this year to read.
ReplyDeleteSome of my favorites: Jane of Lantern Hill, Prayers for Sale, The Blue Castle, A Circle of Quiet ( Crosswicks Journak Booke 1), A Lantern in Her Hand.
ReplyDeleteI loved All the Light We Cannot See, too!
