The pots on our front porch have been empty for more than a year. Before that, they were filled with dead plants. I have terrible luck with these sorts of things. So this time around I am trying succulents and a cactus. Those should make it through the summer, right?
First of all, your house is so cute! And I could never keep anything alive (made me terrified to have kids) but succulents are pretty easy. I have had some for a couple of years now and they are even growing a little. So if I can do it, you can! :)
ReplyDeleteThey will work. Easy to grow and they look nice.
ReplyDeleteGood idea!!!!!
potted plants do not do well for me. I have had luck with hearts and flowers, sort of a scuclent. Make sure there is drainage in the bottom. Lantana has done well for us too, both are very forgiving. Yo can get starts for hearts and flowers and not even spend a dime.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea!
ReplyDeleteI never comment but I had to say the the front of your house looks so cute! The pots look wonderful also!
ReplyDeleteI have a hard time gardening, too. I bought some double begonias last week. I literally went into the garden shop and told them I can't grow anything, and asked what they would recommend! We'll see how it goes...the stems and leaves look pretty succulent-y, but the flowers are like little roses.
ReplyDeleteAnd GAH! Love your front door!
Oh man! I am the same way. Succulents are a great idea!
ReplyDeleteI have a black thumb too. I just discovered succulents this year and have replaced my needy flowers with them. By needy, I mean those that need water because I can never remember. When I read " let the soil totally dry out" I knew succulents were made for me.
