laundry

I did a lot of laundry yesterday. I think I washed Elliot's entire wardrobe. But you know what? It was easy. All I had to do was move one load from the washer to the drier and over again a few times. I am so thankful that I didn't have to go to a laundromat, or beat the clothes on a rock in a river, or stir them in a big pot of boiling water and wring them out by hand. I have it easy, and I am just so grateful.

Very true--it's easy to groan about laundry (the putting away mostly for me) but you are so right.

  3. You are right. We are all sooo blessed and grateful. I remember washing with a wringer washing machine, rinsing in the laundry tub once and then moving it to the other laundry tub to rinse twice and then run it through the wringer again before I could hang it on the line to dry. I was sooooo happy when I got my first automatic washer and dryer. Yes, I have much to be grateful for!!!

  5. I feel the same Stephanie! I think that every time I have to other dreaded chores-at least I don't have to heat the water by starting a fire outside, or grind the flour to make bread...when you think of what are great great grandmothers were doing we have very little to complain about!

  6. I used to get a lot of satisfaction from laundry. Loved to see it all clean and neatly folded into groups.
I've always felt so grateful for washer/dryers/dishwashers and ovens.
And that I had a family for whom I used those appliances!
