pumpkin + chocolate

Pumpkin recipe no. three was good. Despite the nearly full can of pumpkin puree called for in the recipe, this chocolate cake has a very subtle pumpkin flavor, which makes it an easy crowd pleaser. After all, I know that not everyone is as obsessed with pumpkin desserts as I am. It is super moist and chocolatey and delicious. But my favorite part by far is the pumpkin spice butter cream frosting. I am trying to think of other things I can spread it on. Graham crackers? Brownies? My fingers? Yum!

This just in: this cake is even more delicious the next day.

Oooh, we do something similar - just the 3 ingredients of pumpkin, one box chocolate cake mix, one egg...put them in cupcake tins..sprinkle a few choc. chips (dark is my fav!) and bake! SO quick and easy! I'll have to try this one!!

Since we didn't really care for the frosting part, I didn't put it on our cake. You can pick it up tomorrow. :-)

I just made that yesterday! And by golly it IS so good. And the frosting is scrumptious too, couldn't get enough of it and I'm not a frosting girl.

I didn't put the sour cream in the cake mix because I saw the author's cake had collapsed a bit in the pic and I figured it was because the recipe was too dense. The result was amazing and no sinking in the middle!
