I am not at all hip. Or young. Or social. And I think I'm ok with it. Mike and I were invited to a dinner party filled with friends and blogging people on Friday night. We had a great time (thank you,
Beth!), but I was happy to come home to my little house filled with my little kids and my little life. I think I'm the most boring person I know.
p.s. I started
Gone with the Wind this weekend. So far it is spectacular. To see what I've read lately,
find me on Goodreads.

I love this. I can so relate. I want to make a shirt when I turn 30 that says, "I'm 30, can I stop pretending to be hip?". A happy family is as much excitement as I need!
ReplyDeleteBoring or not, I love the map that you're sitting in front of! I've been looking for one of those. :)
ReplyDeleteHa, well I would consider you to be all of those things: young, hip, & social ~ but you're also that thing that's more important than all that; happy with your little life. That is fantastic!
ReplyDeleteHello Stephanie,
ReplyDeleteI wanted to say that you are a very beautiful and demure woman. I appreciate women like you because you are so opposite of me and I strive to have more of that in my life.
It was nice to see you on Friday. You have a created a wonderful like for yourself and there is nothing boring about it.
xoxo
P.S. Sorry for being so loud:)
P.P.S.
ReplyDeleteI am 32 years old and I am pretty sure older than you so I should be ashamed of myself:)
I think this is too cute and funny. I can totally relate, but I think it's okay. I am a big fan of boring.
ReplyDeleteI just finished Gone With the Wind last month. I cried my eyes out. Great read. I am excited to see your goodread account. I am always looking for more recommendations!
ReplyDeleteP.S. Being hip isn't the end all. I am glad you like being who you are, because you are lovely.
I am so glad you came! I think you are wonderful- one of the people I admire most- and I know that I am in no way hip and I'm really even not young anymore. . .I hope we can get together sometime again!
ReplyDeleteps. gone with the wind is one of my all time favorite books. I adore it.
It says a lot about your home and family when they are both great to be around. :)
ReplyDeleteI feel the same...and I am really really not young, let alone hip or social. :) If I leave I am pushed out the door, and I am always happy to come home.
ReplyDeleteoh, please! you are not boring at all. i'm with beth - you are someone i greatly admire (even though i hardly even know you). i adore your love for your family/home... those are the things that matter most anyway!
ReplyDeletesuch a classy picture, i love it! we always feel weird at parties, too. i'm okay for about 15 minutes, but then i could easily scoot out! love you!
ReplyDeleteLet's be boring together. :)
ReplyDeleteI prefer to call us introspective and appreciative of our family life! I'm right there with you!
ReplyDeleteupon further inspection it seems there are more of us who feel this way than previously believed.
ReplyDeletehere's to loving our "boring" little lives. =)
Stephanie, it was so good to meet you. You are just so eloquent and darling. I love your and your husbands love story. I hope I can see you again soon.
ReplyDeleteI can guaranteed I am more boring than all of you put together. :)
ReplyDeleteAlso, GONE WITH THE WIND is the best book/movie. Ever. Period.
i remember reading GWTW - the bit about scarlett's 17" waist has always stuck with me. that is so skinny. love that photo of you and your man.
