the first egg

One of our hens left us a present yesterday morning. Our first egg! Never have I appreciated an egg more. It is such a little miracle.

Here's hoping it's the first of many.

  2. Yay! You should be getting tons before too long. My mom only has four chickens, and gets about 20 eggs a week. You are going to be getting LOTS of eggs.

  9. How exciting! I hope to raise chickens in the future. Our family had chickens when I was a child, and it's one of the best things they could have done for me. So much fun with the chickens, and spending time with my siblings. I would love to do chickens now that I have my own little family. So fun!
