I just remembered that I like to knit.
And not a moment too soon, since Oliver has requested a scarf in his stocking before we brave the arctic temperatures of Sundance later this month.
Please ignore my knitting form. I know it can't be good, since my hands are already aching.
And did you notice my bump? Yep, it's right there in the black.

You need to teach me some knitting skills. I can't knit to save my life.
ReplyDeleteI decided to knit a scarf for each of my girls this year; fortunately they're young enough not to realize I have no idea what I'm doing... knit/purl is all I know how to do (and not very well either!)
ReplyDeleteAdorable bump!
I love homemade gifts. It is going to be beautiful!
ReplyDeleteMy mom keeps begging me to let her teach me how to knit, but since I already do basic crochet, I haven't taken her up on it. Maybe once the kids leave the nest and I have time for another hobby. :-)
See you in a few weeks!
i learned how to knit when i was on bedrest with Gracie and since it was in November, i made all my christmas presents that year. i think i should do the same this year since we will also be enduring those same freezing utah temps. thanks for the reminder!
ReplyDeleteMy grandmother taught me how to knit a few months ago. The only thing I have knitted are a simple baby scarf and hat. I really enjoyed working on it since they were easy, repetitive stitches. The hat was all purl and the hat was all knit stitches. I have a hard time seeing the difference when I do a pattern of the two together though. Perhaps you should give us all a tutorial :)
ReplyDeleteWhat is the pattern you are using now for the scarf you are knitting?
I love to knit and re-learned after my kids were born. (I learned as a young girl.) I hope that you take breaks so you don't get too sore. I believe I hurt my shoulder once from tense knitting and knitting with cotton.
ReplyDeletehuzzah for bumps! :) :) and i know nothing about knitting form, but the scarf itself looks gorgeous.
ReplyDeletecutesy little bump.
ReplyDeleteDo you have a link to the pattern you're using? Looks fun...I recently picked up crocheting again, I think I always do around this time of year. BTW, I made your black bottomed banana cream pie for Thanksgiving, yummy!
ReplyDeleteI tried to have my Mom teach me years ago but I'm lefty and have no patience.
ReplyDeleteSo who took the picture?
