My perfect Saturday didn't end so well.

Our Stella is in the hospital.

I was carrying her on my hip
as I walked down the stairs on Saturday when I slipped.
In the fall, her leg must have been smashed between me and the stairs
because now she has a fractured femur.

Mike spent Saturday night with her at urgent care and the hospital.
Her nearly full body cast was put on today.
Tonight she is having a hard time shaking the anesthesia.

We are hopeful that she can return home tomorrow her old self,
though a very highly immobile one for the next 4-5 weeks.

It's been a rough 24 hours.
Poor little lamb.

Mike posted a picture of her cast on his blog.
It's very very sad.

  20. STEPHANIE!!! I cannot believe you did not tell us!!! Broken babies take priority over co ops!!!! I feel so bad knowing that you watched our kids while Stella was in the hospital. I just asked Maesyn about it. I said did Stella get hurt on Saturday? "No, she was just at the hospital getting a cast on her leg." This is the first I heard. I'm so sorry. I hope she is feeling better.

  33. sunday night eric asked if i saw mikes blog (and i don't usually look at it, sorry mike) but we looked at the pictures and he didn't say anything that happened to her. i'm so sorry to hear about that. when lily was a couple of months i would get black out spells a lot and one day i got up too fast and hit my head on the corner of the counter and woke up to a worried eric. THEN a week later i was walking down the stairs and i was holding lily and started going black but caught myself. Thats when i taught Emma 911 except she was only 3 and couldn't tell from 6 and 9 and would press 611. i tried to tell her no one would come. anyway. good luck with everything. she is still so cute.
