My Best Baby and My To-do's

playing peek-a-boo with the curtains in Mabel's room

Don't get me wrong, my first two babies were good,
but Stella is by far my best baby.

She is our happiness machine.

She takes two 2-3 hour naps a day and wakes up talking to herself in her crib.
I didn't know babies really did that!

Have I told you lately how much I love having a baby in our house?
Nothing is sweeter or brings more joy.

I know you are totally wondering what we are up to today, so here is my to-do list:

~wait for Mike's birthday present from my parents to be delivered
[it's a shipment of chocolate covered strawberries that will not survive a wait on my porch in the heat and humidity (it's monsoon-y here)]

~borrow books from the library for Mabel to read on our upcoming drive to california

~send Samantha to the doll hospital
(her arm fell off)

~plan my sharing time lesson for Sunday

~make this cake for Mike's big day tomorrow

Now, who was your best baby and what are you doing today?
I really want to know!

  1. What super cute pictures those are! Sounds like a good list. I myself am doing laundry and some pre-packing for our big trip on Monday. And, I'm not preparing anything for Sunday since we originally were going to be gone then - otherwise I'd be preparing sharing time too! Have fun tomorrow - that cakes looks scrumptious and perfect for this stifling heat/humidity. July 12 is special to me too since it's not only my dad's bday but also the day my hubs & I first met (in 1996) so I bought him a new cd (Beck) to commemorate.

  2. 2 questions:

1: Does the doll hospital accept human patients too? Cause their limb reattachment price is quite reasonable if we ever need that sort of service.

2: Will that cake be at Mike/Ellie's splash park party? It looks delicious.

  3. Oh, hands down our easy fun baby would be Emma, but Lily comes on close after she was 3 months and Carson after 6 months.. man my kids have gotten hard. Emma was always a happy girl and she is still the best kid in the car when we go on long drives. my to do list.. finish putting sprinkler heads in by myself, spray the weeds, finish a craft project and get ready for work.. oh and make dinner before i go.

  4. miss stella sounds like such a sweetie - I hope I get to hold her some day!
I should be packing for our trip to Jackson Hole, but I instead went to Target and got myself some new prego duds (I have always been pregnant during warm weather and so lows in the 30s up there in Jackson will require some hoodies) - so I guess that was sorta productive. I also had to get Jayden's Kindergarten school supplies (year-round starts end of the month!!) and snackies for our 9 hour drive, so I guess I'm slowly checking things off my to-do list.
P.S. that mirror in Mabel's room is so lovely.

  5. I want to know how that cake turns out, my husband loves Oreos.
My 3rd has been my best baby as well. My kids are really good as babies, but once they hit 14 months they get to be a handful.
We had baptism pictures today at Portrait Innovations, and searched for the desert breeze splash park. We couldn't find it and so we came home. Cool weather we are having though.
What are you going to do in Cali?

  6. That cake sounds divine. I love ice cream sandwiches... and my birthday is coming up! What a great idea!

I love the peek-a-boo pictures. Oh my, Miss Stella is ADORABLE!

I've been blessed with awesome babies, have slept through the night since day 1 and go down and wake-up singing and talking. Luckily Ryker continued that way. Jaxon, on the other hand, has been a hard 3-year-old. We'll see what Scarlet does :) But, oh goodness, she is SO delightful now.

I didn't have anything on my to-do list today (besides the usual cleaning up, some dishes and laundry), so we went to see Wall-E and played at the splashpad in Gilbert SanTan. It was fun.

The chocolate covered strawberries sound divine. How wonderful!

  7. Your dad was my best baby. Think Stella has the same disposition. The cake is delicious. It is the same reciepe that I used to make in the 60's except that we didn't have cool whip and used real whipped cream. Mike will love it!!

  9. My 3rd baby was my easiest baby too! Unfortunately she is my hardest toddler/whatever a 4 1/2 year old is called. Such attitude and mood swings! I tell ya, I couldn't handle another one like her. Here's hoping for another baby like her and hopefully he stays sweet!

  10. I love your bookseller table bookshelf. Where did you get it. Stella is too adorable.
I'll have to get back to you on who is my best baby.
Today? Alpine Slide in Park City with 3 of Brandon's sisters.

  11. Third babies must be the charm, Tucker was my easiest. Nathan was colicky and cried until he was 5 months old. Hartley was good, but only wanted Mommy until he was over a year. Tucker could be comforted by Mommy, Daddy or Grandma. He was a good sleeper, a great nurser, and has such a wonderful disposition! We'll see how the fourth baby is when Jackson arrives in a couple of months.

Today was cleaning and organizing the living room and laundry room. I am seriously nesting.

Stella is such a doll and Mabel's room is gorgeous!

  12. all three of my babies have been good in different ways, but i think parker was the easiest. still is, in fact. :)

my day is past over, we drove across the entire state of oklahoma today. blah and blah. pretty, but we are SO done with road trips.

i'm calling you soon. miss you!

  13. My best baby (out of only two) is definitely Annie. She is such a smiley girl, anytime you smile at her, she smiles back. I agree that babies definitely bring a lot of joy, they're just so innocent and cute. We went to Gymnastics today and I'm going to finish a skirt I'm making for the Nat girl. Maybe swimming this afternoon? We'll see...

  15. Technically Finn is my only baby, but I can already tell he's not going to be my "best" (as much as I love him, I can tell future babies will be easier...if not, so help me).

Today I am doing laundry—recovering from trip #1 and preparing for trip #2.
