Last night, while we were out and about (which is totally rare for us), I found the best swaddling blankets at a cute little shop called Chicky Bella (On Gilbert and Warner if you live around there). Even though I don't swaddle Stella anymore, I had to buy a pack of the blankets. They are made out of muslin, which is totally breathable, soft, light, and kind of stretchy. They are the perfect swaddling blanket, especially in the summer in Arizona. The little "Alternate Uses" label totally sold me.
Now, because everyone likes a give-away, I will be giving away one of the blankets to a lucky commenter. Really, if you have a baby girl, or you know someone who does, this would be a great blanket to have. Even if you aren't a swaddler (shocking!), you would use this blanket. I promise.
Here are the details:
* The giveaway closes Thursday evening.
* You have until then to make a comment on THIS POST.
* Winner must contact me by Friday evening to keep the prize.
Good luck!

This is a fantastic way to lure the blog lurkers out, such as myself. I'm Melissa White's friend/old roomate. You actually lived in my parents' ward in Irvine for awhile, I believe. I saw you there one time while I was visiting and you looked super familiar. (maybe from BYU?) I kept staring at you, trying to figure out how I knew you and now hear I am lurking on your blog but I promise I'm not creepy.
ReplyDeleteP.S. - Love your kids' names. May, my youngest was almost a Stella.
Looks super cute! I don't have any swaddlable babies but I know people who do...
ReplyDeleteI have been following you ever since I saw your swaddle post. What a great find for those of us living in the warm state!
ReplyDeleteThat is a perfect summer blanket. Very cute, picture of Peek-a-Boo!
ReplyDeleteI have tons of blankets but none that are really good for swaddling. And with little girl #5 coming in Sept. I know I will definitely use this. Please, pick me! :)
ReplyDeleteThis looks so cute! I have a brand-new niece that's still in the swaddling stage - this would be perfect for her!
ReplyDeleteI am a total swaddler, but without a baby to swaddle these days, he just turned 2.
ReplyDeleteThose sound perfect, you have to find just the right fabric for the AZ weather.
Hi Steph! It's your cousin Heather :) Over the years I've "stopped in" to see how you are all doing! It's been so awesome to see your families grow! I must say your kiddos have the cutest cherub faces! I usually don't have time to comment, but when I saw this post I thought I'd send a note, (no selfish reasons of course ;)!) Actually I am totally into swaddling too, but I don't have a single GIRL blanket! (With Ella she was a suprise so all green and yellow and Cayden's are all blue) but our new one, who is a girl (Clara due in Sept) is lacking! Anyway, thought I'd use your post as an excuse to say hi! Love to you all!
ReplyDeleteShocker alert...I'm not a swaddler! But maybe the blanket could turn me into one.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE TO SWADDLE!!! I want this blanket so badly!
ReplyDeleteOhhhh! My good friend 8 houses down the street is having a baby in July (a girl!) and I will get to keep her for a few weeks when she goes back to work before she quits. This would be the perfect thing!
ReplyDeleteThis muslin idea sounds great, I wish someone could tell me what is worse... Humid Houston Summers or Arid Arizona summers? Anyone?
No babies due here, but I can hold on to it for 1 day:)
ReplyDeletelove the blanket! maybe my next one will like swaddling! :)
ReplyDeleteFun! I love that store and I love the blanket! I had a give-away on one of my blogs a couple weeks ago and it was so fun. Fun to give and fun to win!! I love swaddling... gone are those days, but look at those wonderful other ways to use this cute blanket!
ReplyDeleteThe blanket looks adorable!
ReplyDeleteBeing a new, inexperienced mother I am still learning how to weed through the mass of baby gear that is available these days. I have a 2 month old in AZ and I've struggled finding a good swaddling blanket that she can't "houdini" her way out of and that's cool enough for her to sleep in at night. Anything that is tested and mom approved I would love to try!
ReplyDeleteI think I'd feel really weird if I won, but - those blankets would be great for a few people I know having babies this month. Plus, I love that store.
ReplyDeleteyou can never have too many swaddling blankets. count me in.
ReplyDeleteHey Steph!
ReplyDeleteI think you should pick Heather as well :) She is seriously lacking girl newborn stuff!
Oooo! Count me in - I can hope this is a girl or find a deserving someone to send one to, for sure! And if I don't win, I may have you pick up a pack for me anyway and I'll pay you for your trouble, the postage and the blankets - sound good? :D
ReplyDeleteI have three packs of these blankets...one for the girl, one for the boy, and a unisex pack. I use them every single day, for everything. they are so great. i don't need it, but how fun anyways.
ReplyDeleteWhy have you kept this secret from me?! You know Im desperate!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE to swaddle. We only have boys around here, even the one on the way, BUT I do have a beautiful new niece who I'm sure would love the blanket.
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of that store, but I'm totally going there next time I'm in that neighborhood (which is fairly often). And the only good swaddling blankets I have are homemade, so I'm excited to check these out. Thanks for the tip! (And wow... give-aways totally bring out the comments!)
ReplyDeleteI do know someone who just had a girl and someone else who is having one in September. This would be great!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to win. I know so many pregnant peeps (including myself).
ReplyDeleteBeautiful blanket...just perfect for my baby girl!
ReplyDeleteI have a 3-week-old boy who loves to be swaddled and could care less if the blanket were pink (since he rarely opens his eyes!).
ReplyDeleteperfect for my very pregnant sister!
ReplyDeletePick me, pick me! I never win anything- but I think I have to order some of those for boys for Oliver. Thanks for the tip.
ReplyDeleteholy crap.. #31! that is a lucky number i can feel it. sounds like a great blanket.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the give away, I have a five month old boy but my friend has a baby girl still in swaddle the stage.
ReplyDeleteThanks.
i guess you never realize how many people check your blog until you offer a free give-away, then they all come out of the woodwork, huh? i'd love to try this out on my new little one... it's getting so hot, yet she loves a good swaddle!
ReplyDeletethose blankets look delicious...
ReplyDeleteI love your blog. and I love that blanket. We are moving to Houston, after so many wonderful stories from Leslie, and a light blanket would be perfect for our little babies.
ReplyDeleteOooh-that looks like a nice one. Count me in!
ReplyDeleteWhat if I don't have a girl, and won't for years? Am I still eligible? I like things for my hope chest, and I have LOTS of neices, and ones that will be born in the next seven monthss or so.
ReplyDeleteMy stroller doesn't have a sunshield, or maybe I just lost it...but this blanket looks like it would do the trick! :)
ReplyDeleteI got a three pack of those blankets at my shower from my lady in-laws and I LOVE them (even though Elora isn't big into swaddling). They are the best, wouldn't have had to make swaddling blankets out of sheets if I'd had those with Jonah.
