2. Yesterday was the last day of school and Mabel didn't have a kindergarten commencement ceremony. I have always thought those were lame, but still managed to feel gipped. On the bright side, I won't have to wake anyone up from a nap to pick her up anymore.
3. It is only 68 degrees outside and rainy. Can you believe it?
4. Because I have a dream that someday I will stand at my kitchen sink, look out the window, and see something green, Mike will hopefully be finishing our sprinkler installation this weekend. I am sure that's how he wants to spend his day off on Monday.
5. Oliver has figured out his future plans. First he wanted to be a "sign-taker-downer." But when Mabel told him that wasn't a job and suggested doing what Dad does, Oliver said, "He just goes to work. I think I want to build houses." Also, he wants to marry Mabel.
6. What are you all doing this weekend?
Well, we were going to swim to our hearts' content in celebration of no more school... what to people do when it's too cold to swim?? I kind of can't believe we're actually having this dilemma.
ReplyDeleteOur kindergartners don't have a commencement ceremony, thank goodness!! They have a class party and I think that is good enough!
ReplyDeletehooray for no more waking people up to pick up other people. that's making me really happy today, too.
ReplyDeletei can't believe it's cold at your house! when was the last time that happened at the end of may? prob. a long time ago . . .
Oliver is the best.
ReplyDeleteI really love your kids...
ReplyDeleteYeah for sprinklers. Tell Mike Elliott will be with him in spirit!
hooray for no more school! i am also excited to not have to wake up cruz everyday. i am thinking a weekend of lounging around and watching movies sounds good, maybe a little hike.
ReplyDeleteOliver is a riot. Yay for graduated Kindergarteners! I'll have one of my own on June 6th (no pomp and circumstance here either, thankfully). Hot sucks, we're melting over here in 90 something heat and the kicker... the humidity, which requires you to take a shower if you so much as THINK of stepping foot outside.
ReplyDeleteThis weekend we've got free babysitting tonight (courtesy of Matt's employer), a corn boil tomorrow and a Memorial Day 5k Run and breakfast on Monday. Thinking that the beach might be an idea... along with EVERY OTHER PERSON IN THE STATE OF FLORIDA. Ugh!
totally wishing that we could kill our weeds in our backyard so we can work on the grass but it is raining like crazy.
ReplyDeleteAre you enjoying the weather?
ReplyDeleteWe had a really weird storm Thursday afternoon... lots of rain, LOUD THUNDER!! (made me jump) and lightening which took out our next-door neighbor's satellite!
Your wish came true, we have rain. This weather is strange. We were swimming in 108 weather now we are stuck inside because of the rain. This weekend we are going car shopping. We are in the works of getting are car sold. Have a great weekend and if you want to came to see the baby you are more that welcome too. Love the sprinklers! Good job Mike!
ReplyDeletewe don't have a commencement ceremony, either. i would like the chance to go and hear all the cute little songs they've learned. bentley only shares parts of them w/ me. :(
ReplyDeleteStella is so cute! I hope you had a good long weekend, and got some progress on the grass! It looks like SOMEONE read your last post and decided to give us a few more days of cool weather- hooray!
ReplyDeleteyour kids are really adorable. good luck with the sprinkler installation--we're doing fence work. it's always something, right? i typed that and realized i sound exactly like my parents... it's official, we're grown ups. blagh!
