My sister, Leslie, asked the following question on her blog:
Who was the first person you knew (personally) with a blog?
&/or
Whose blog inspired you to start your own?
Here's my answer:
Nie Nie was my inspiration. (Our husbands are friends.) I didn't even know what a blog was until I started reading hers. At first, I thought they were kind of self-centered, but after a few months of stalking Nie Nie's super hip and ultra creative blog, and some not so subtle nudges from Mike, I started my own. Like a lot of you, I have a love/hate relationship with blogging. I still think it is kind of self-centered sometimes. But mostly I think it is a great way for my family (which is spread all over the country) to see my kids grow, and a place for me to expend some of my creative energy. Because of blogging I feel like I know all of my siblings and friends so much better. My dear friend, Mrs. Dub, was right when she said that blogs are the new tv. I could go days without watching tv, but without blogging? (gasp!) I don't think so. However, I am attempting to not let it take over my life. I am doing better these days.

natalie and i were talking about making a big chart, kind of like a family tree of blogging. i know at least 2 dozen people who've started since you did. at least. :)
ReplyDeletelove you!
You were my blog inspiration!
ReplyDeleteI guess it's time for me to come out of the closet... Katie told me about your blog so I've been checking it out. Both yours and Katie's inspired me to start one. Your whole life is so cute (kids, house, creations, etc.) I love reading about it. Tell Mike hi!
ReplyDeletewhen are we getting together for crying out loud?
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to remember; was it Elliott? Though it was everyone jumping on the bandwagon that convinced me to blog. Plus, I wanted to put a place for quilt photographs. :)
ReplyDeleteIt was you! And I also had been reading some digital scrapbooking blogs too. I'm still waiting for most of my friends to get on board! I read NieNie's blog too sometimes- I realized I went to elementary school with her husband- back in his modeling days! :)
