Mike and I Can't Mingle

Now that the temperature has finally cooled off (It is in the 60's at night!) our fabulous neighborhood had a block party last night. I didn't know neighborhoods still did those sorts of things. Our bishop, who lives down the street, provided sandwiches and the rest of us brought salads and desserts. If Mike and I were capable of mingling (since marriage we have seriously and mysteriously lost that ability), it might have been a little more rewarding, but the kids sure loved the bounce house.

  2. I don't mingle well either. But Ryan is really good so I just rely on him...although I have tried to be better. But it is easy to just chill with my boy! I like his company best anyway.

  3. That's why it's great to have kids. They are fantastic conversation starters! My sister Georgia's neighborhood has block parties also. We've talked about one in our neighborhood, but I guess it won't happen unless I put it on. One more thing to add to my "to do" list!

Mingling can be hard Steph but one trick I learned a long time ago was to just ask questions. Everyone can talk about themselves and usually are more then willing. How long have you lived here? Where diid you go to school? We don't have any pets do you? Etc and Etc. Just practice!
You can be a good listener and just ask questions.
    Love you much

  6. Making new friends as a married couple is so much like dating...I hate it. Friends should just be plopped into our laps with "friendship history" already attached.
