Games

We love games.

Our favorites for family play are Candyland and Hungry Hungry Hippos. I like Yahtzee and Rummikub. Mike likes Monopoly and Risk, but I refuse to play those with him. They require too much strategy for my taste. For Mike's birthday, Mabel got him Princess Monopoly-- a fusion of both of their favorite things. It provides hours of priceless father-daughter bonding. If you ask Mabel what she wants to do for Family Home Evening, her answer is always the same: "play games with our family."

Uno, anyone?

  1. I think we would be friends! I linked to your blog through Natalie's (she is in my sister's ward)and feel like we are kindred spirits. I won't play Monopoly with my husband either. I identify with so many things you write about. Too bad you're in AZ and I'm in GA!

  3. I also distain playing strategy-filled games such as RISK - Jay not only has the regular one, but now we also have the LOTR RISK - great - I have contemplated organizing a game night for all the guys to get together and play their marathon games and we girls do ANYHTING else.

  8. Mansfield Park IS a fabulous show - I have to tell you that I tries so hard to show my love for Jay and play LOTR RISK once. I was doing well, I thought, and thought that the game was going pretty fast. Then I realized that we had only just done the initial part of the game, where you pick your countries etc. - little did I know that was only the TIP OF THE ICEBERG - those games could literally go on forever. Perhaps a Jane Austin marathon would be in order...MP, P&P, E, S&S...what a night that would be!!
