decking my halls

I've been a bit under the weather this week (I think I might have the flu, except that I'm not throwing up?). I'm trying to make the best of it by laying on the couch and watching all of my favorite holiday movies. So far I've seen Dan in Real Life (technically not a holiday movie, but I love it just the same), the Family Stone, Little Women, and Pride and Prejudice (Again, not holiday themed, but like I'm going to be sick for a week and not watch P & P! I'm so sure). Am I missing anything?

This morning I decided that I wasn't going to let whatever it is I have get me down anymore, so I brought all of our Christmas decorations up from the basement. And very s l o w l y started putting them out. I still have a ways to go, but it's looking quite festive at our house now. Mike and the kids might even get a tree tonight!

Is the tree up at your house?

  1. The women in my neighborhood are all gonna watch Love Actually on Sunday night! I forgot about the Family Stone. I'll have to hit that one, too.

  2. Steph so sorry you have been sick. Guess I got it too and have been fighting it all week. Stayed in bed on Tues and finally went to the dr and got some meds. Better today and know tomorrow that iI will be okay like it or not! Do have my tree up and decorated and you saw that when you were here. Love you and feel better soon.

  3. Two holiday movies I like are "The Holiday" and "Love Actually"..(not so popular with the guys in my house but I love them). "Elf" and "Christmas Vacation" are family favourites.

    Hope you feel better soon!

  4. Dropped in on your blog via a friend of a friend...crazy enough because I, myself, have been 'under the weather' the last few weeks it seems and boy howdy - it can make a girl BLUE this time of year!! :( Good for you for drudging out the Christmas boxes and taking the time to enjoy the best of holiday movies...love your list of 'must watch' movies but I'd also add "While You Were Sleeping" and "Four Christmases" :)

    Feel better.

  8. Throwing up isn't a symptom of the flu, it's aches and pains, fever, respiratory yuckiness, etc. whatever it is you have, i hope it goes away!! Love and miss you!

Good movie list! I'm coming over there next time I'm sick. I like to watch the newer "Miracle on 34th Street" every Christmas -- and I like to watch P&P anytime!

  11. You forgot It's a Wonderful Life and White Christmas. Oh, and Elf. I have a feeling watching them may cure you of whatever it is ailing you. :)
