books and kids who like books

No. 17: I am thankful for good books. I just finished The Evolution of Calpurnia Tate. I don't normally read young adult literature, but this was sweet and so good! I completely recommend it. Are you on goodreads? Let's be friends.

I am thankful for kids who like to read, too. A trip to the library or bookstore is just about the most exciting thing around here.

What's the best book you've read lately?

  1. did mabel read that entire book in one sitting like audrey did? i have a feeling our kids might all just sit around reading until annie and jack get to AZ to perk them up! both my kids are in the midst of the harry potter series right now, and that's ALL THEY DO.

  2. "Why I Stayed" by Gayle Haggard. It's a great (true) story about the restoration of a broken marriage. But parts of it aren't for the faint of heart.

  3. we love the library, too...but sadly the kids head straight for the movies. why do libraries have movies? my favorite thing is putting books on hold...and to have a huge stack just waiting for us.

Laurie Notaro... so funny, I laughed out loud through almost the whole thing!

  5. I *always* read juvenille/young adult literature. The most recent book I finished was The Evolution of Calpurnia Tate. (I always pick Newberry winners. ALWAYS. It's a requirement.)

  6. Hi! I found your blog through a link on your how to hem jeans post. I've never commented before, but I wanted to introduce myself because I'm going to add you on goodreads. Love finding new friends who love to read and can give me book recommendations :)

I'm new too. Found you through CloverLane. I am on goodreads too and love hearing what others are reading. I just finished the Dragon tatoo series and loved them all. Now Im reading Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro. Looking forward to reading your blog.
