I made jam.

Strawberries were a major steal at the grocery store yesterday. I decided to try my hand at making freezer jam. Guess what? It was a cinch! Have you ever made it before? I just followed the recipe that came with the jars. Easy. You should try it.

Now all we need is some fresh bread and we're in business.

  1. I cannot wait for strawberries in Utah to be ripe! You are a busy lady lately...is this that surge of energy that comes right before labor?

  3. We love strawberry freezer jam. It's the perfect accompaniment to buttermilk biscuits!
I like the no-cooking recipe that comes with one of the Ball Freezer Jam pectins. It's low or no sugar.

  5. Hi Stephanie! Nope, never have made it. My mother didn't/doesn't cook or really do anything in the kitchen. I am, however, learning to sew with her help. I even used your jean hemming tutorial today. My mom was a little skeptical, but it worked and looks great.

Next, onto your onesie dress. Seems I don't need to have the creative bug just some friends who do!

    Thanks!

  6. If you hadn't said that was strawberry jam, I would have thought it was salsa! Look at that picture... salsa, right?

  7. Is there a low or no sugar recipe for freeze jam? I've never made jam before but now I just might!

  8. Isn't it fun to make one's own jam?
There's an abundance of strawberries this season, so the price is really low.

  9. Just another couple of weeks and the berries will be ready here, and I am so excited 'cause we're down to our last couple of tablespoons. My mom always made the cooked variety (which is so good and nothing like Smuckers) but freezer jam is even better!

  10. I love freezer jam! I've only made it with huge quantities of sugar though, so it's time to find another recipe.

I planted strawberries in the garden this year for the first time. We won't get any this year (will pinch), but can't wait for next!
