another tee shirt idea

Please note: I did not make this shirt.
I purchased it after the birth of my Oliver and it has been a favorite ever since.

But, I have always wanted to make another one like it.
And I think we could all do it.
Just sew 3 lines of elastic thread from side seam to side seam in the back.
It's simple, feminine, and flattering.

  3. I need to do this. I need a waist in all my frumpy shirts. I wish you were here to give me a refresher/tutorial on my sewing machine. I swear--2 years of lessons lost on me cause I can hardly remember how to thread it!

  4. That's a great idea. I have a shirt that is too wide at the waist/hip area, the ruching might help.

  5. alright, miss stephanie. by what means could i convince you to pump out some of these GREAT ideas for my behalf?! my kids are so demanding that an alarm sounds when ever i attempt to do anything for myself. would monetary compensation for time, talent and materials tempt you? :D i love all your ideas, but that first tshirt alteration has been haunting me ever since you posted about it!

  7. Great idea - but I have a quick question...when I've used elastic thread in the past I didn't backstitch so I'm wondering how to keep it in place on an already finished garment. Any tips?
