Everyone loves a vacation recap, right?

Mike had business meetings in California this week.
In the city of Orange, no less.
(That's where I grew up.)
So we loaded the kids in the car and headed on over.

We stayed at the Hyatt Orange County and were the only people in the whole hotel not going to Disneyland.

checking out the view from our room

Of course we did the requisite things, like:

dip our toes in the freezing Pacific
eat at Ruby's
drive around the Circle
see the house I grew up in
and spend time at Grammy and Grampy's

We had two perfectly lovely afternoons at their house.

The end.

  1. Be glad you didn't go to Disneyland or else you would have been in line with the rest of the hotel guests.
That was supposed to make you feel better about that.
Oh and you didn't spend a fortune there.
    That should do it.

    Great pics!

  2. mabel and grammy both look very happy! mom and dad

  3. So glad you had fun! Elliott missed you when he was out in AZ though... what are the chances?

  4. looks like fun! old town orange is so charming. i have so many memories there. sigh.

stella's legs look yummy, can't wait to get a squeeze, and it looks like grammy had an art area all ready for mabel. grammy's the best. :)

  5. I love the picture of all three sleeping!

  6. mabel's hair is getting so long. does she love it?

  7. The picture of Stella grinning over her shoulder made me smile instantly. The sleeping picture is wonderful too. We got one of those of the boys Easter weekend, but it wasn't quite as tricky as ours were all forward facing. Looks like you had a great trip!

  8. I always love YOUR vacation recaps...such good pictures. I love the one of Stella on the bed w/Mabel & Oliver looking out the window.

  9. So fun: ) We went to Ruby's when we were in CA too!

  10. The pic of Stella looking over her shoulder is so cute. Looks like a fun trip!

  11. How adorable are your kids all sleeping in the car!! Sounds like a it was a perfect get-a-way!
