I have never been in labor.

That's right. I have born two children and am 1 week away from delivering my third, but I have no idea what labor (or even a contraction!) feels like. (I have c-sections thanks to Mabel's footling breech position 5 years ago.) So this morning when I woke up feeling "weird" and really "crampy" I thought that maybe today would be the day. I had a doctors appointment this morning, and just to be safe, I was packed and ready to go for a hospital stay.
Apparently, I am not in labor. Thank goodness.
We still have a car to buy, I have a sharing time to teach, a house that needs a good cleaning, and various other miscellaneous things to do before Miss Stella can make her grand entrance in 7 days. Having the baby now would just be a bit inconvenient. However, if she decides that she is ready, I will be ready, too.

I am keeping that bag packed.

  4. Boy you scared me. I thought you were going to say that you were in the hospital.

That'd be funny though - Ellie born on Mike's birthday, Stella born on Cathy's birthday.

  7. I had to be induced for my first child so when the second one came around I had no idea what going into labor would be like. Pain-ful. That's what it was.

Good luck with everything. Looking forward to the pics.

  9. Amen to Leslie's comment. Sharing time? You are pretty much Wonder Woman! I didn't even feel like going to church much less teaching a room full of kids: )

  10. You are too cute! a sidenote: it took me YEARS to learn how to say NO. I still hardly ever say it and sometimes get wayyyyy over my head. Keep yourself sane, Take care, and best wishes for a safe delivery and healthy new baby.

  12. Aside from the obvious near-congratulations that are in order, can I just say how adorable your house is. Love the walls, the floors, the pictures... you have really done a great job with that place!! And yeah, get some rest or you really will go into labor soon... I had labor with my first two and then a scheduled c-section with my twins; you're not missing anything great by not experiencing labor! :)

  14. A friend of a friend here, but I had to give my two cents here. Definitely keep that bag packed. My third came early and I hadn't packed anything yet. Hubby packed for me while I showered. I arrived at the hospital with a pair of slippers, a pair of socks, a hair scrunchie, the digital camera, the laptop and a stack of DVD's. No gown, robe, toothbrush, hairbrush, shampoo...none of those things. Next time I think I'll pack at the end of the second trimester...lol. Oh, and he packed absolutely nothing for the baby...lol.
