I did a lot of laundry yesterday. I think I washed Elliot's entire wardrobe. But you know what? It was easy. All I had to do was move one load from the washer to the drier and over again a few times. I am so thankful that I didn't have to go to a laundromat, or beat the clothes on a rock in a river, or stir them in a big pot of boiling water and wring them out by hand. I have it easy, and I am just so grateful.
Very true--it's easy to groan about laundry (the putting away mostly for me) but you are so right.
ReplyDeleteAmen!
ReplyDeleteAmen! Today is laundry day for me, thank you for sharing your good attitude.
ReplyDeleteYou are right. We are all sooo blessed and grateful. I remember washing with a wringer washing machine, rinsing in the laundry tub once and then moving it to the other laundry tub to rinse twice and then run it through the wringer again before I could hang it on the line to dry. I was sooooo happy when I got my first automatic washer and dryer. Yes, I have much to be grateful for!!!
ReplyDeleteyou said it.. it could be worse
ReplyDeleteI feel the same Stephanie! I think that every time I have to other dreaded chores-at least I don't have to heat the water by starting a fire outside, or grind the flour to make bread...when you think of what are great great grandmothers were doing we have very little to complain about!
ReplyDeleteI used to get a lot of satisfaction from laundry. Loved to see it all clean and neatly folded into groups.
ReplyDeleteI've always felt so grateful for washer/dryers/dishwashers and ovens.
And that I had a family for whom I used those appliances!
Thankful for our new washer, spent a week without one, was a living nightmare.
