Stellie
While in New Hampshire Stella and Ellie became inseparable (and posed for some super cute pictures). Yay for cousins.
Summer trip no. 2 is in full swing. We're spending the week in my favorite place, beautiful Sundance, Utah. Yippee!
See you soon.

New Hampshire
New Hampshire is a dreamy place. We stayed in Rye, in cute little cottages right across from the ocean. It was perfect. We did lots of fun, relaxing, vacation-y things and ate lots of yummy food. I could have stayed all summer.
FYI: There's no ocean breeze in Arizona. Sigh.

Massachusetts
My husband's father is from Massachusetts, so last week we headed east to see his family. It had been about 17 years since Mike last saw his Grandad. I was so happy to finally meet him. We spent lots of time playing in his beautiful yard. It was definitely the highlight of the trip.
Side note: My kids have seen all 4 of their living great grandparents this summer. I love that.

We're home for a minute.
Summer trip no. 1 was a success! We spent a week in Massachusetts and New Hampshire, visiting Mike's Grandad (Hi Grandad!) and looking at the ocean. It was completely wonderful.
Trip no. 2 starts tomorrow.
Full photo recaps of both to follow. I know you can't wait. :) But first I have a ton of laundry/unpacking/repacking/eating Yodipity to do.
Bye for now.

growing
Look, it's Oliver!
How do you feel about growth charts? Do you have one at your house? Or do you just mark the wall somewhere? I've been on the look out for a good growth chart for years. Years! I wanted something simple and move-able. I think I found it. It looks like a big giant ruler. Isn't it fantastic? I'm so pleased.
You can get your own here.
(I just noticed that she's sold out. But I bet you could ask her to restock her shop. :)

Elliot is cute, some other things, and a winner.
I love this baby of mine. Sometimes he likes to sleep with his fist under his chin. And then I die from the cuteness.
I am thinking about doing a mini/major kitchen redo. I must be crazy. Or bored. I just need to convince Mike that it's a good idea. Visions of creamy white cabinets are dancing in my head.
It's been hot at our house this week. Like really hot. We're getting pretty excited about our trips to the East Coast and Sundance later this month. I just want to see an ocean and go for a walk outside without dying of heat exhaustion, you know?
And from one Stephanie C to another, congratulations! Stephanie C, you just (randomly) won a pretty little necklace. Send your info to barefootstephanie@gmail and I will pass it on to the good people at the r house couture. Thanks for entering, everybody. Aren't giveaways fun?
Have a good weekend.

One of these days I'll sew something for my boys.
But today, it was Stella's turn.
I finally finished the ruffled halter top. I only had enough pink polka dot fabric for the ruffles. The rest of the shirt (and those cute bubble shorts) is made from scraps of denim left over from some 1968 dresses. I love how it turned out. What do you think?
It's not a dress, but she might wear it anyway.
p.s. Aaak! Why does she look so old in this (very blurry) picture?
p.p.s. 1968 dresses will be back in production once school starts, just fyi.
Have you entered the giveaway?

Repurposing is all the rage.
It's too hot here to even think about ironing.
I'm like, so green. :)

A giveaway. Yay!
So, turning eight in our church is kind of a big deal. I wanted to give Mabel something special for her birthday to commemorate the big event.
Thank goodness for the r house couture and their mini choose the right necklace.
Do you know mrs. r? She's one of my old college roommates and best friends. I love her. She is one of the most passionate people I know, especially when it comes to adoption, and she has two of the cutest little boys to prove it. I have always admired her impeccable taste and simple, beautiful jewelry. Mrs. r and two of her friends and fellow adoption advocates are the talent behind the r house couture. They make some of the prettiest, most inspirational hand stamped jewelry I've seen. Every piece has a story. My favorite is the I can do hard things necklace. So brilliant.
Because Mabel and I love her ctr necklace so much, the ladies at the r house couture want to give one away to one of you! Hurrah!
Here are the details:
Click on over to the r house couture and take a look around. Then come back and leave a comment on this post telling me what you liked best in the shop. One lucky commenter will win their very own mini ctr necklace! It's perfect. Trust me. Mabel loves her's. It's delicate and pretty and an excellent reminder to always choose the right.
Hurry, the winner will be announced Friday morning (which means you have until Thursday night to enter)!
*Time's up. The giveaway is now closed.*
