life with baby no. 4

insert squeak here

I have four kids. I'm not sure how I got here, but I sure do like it.

Each time we have a new baby, I feel like our family gets more official. Now with four, I'd say we are seriously official.

These days, you will most likely find me on the couch nursing/holding the baby/dozing. I don't mind, but Stella might. She's been hearing "in a minute" from me a lot lately, which she just completely ignores, of course.

Mabel and Oliver really really love Elliot. The first thing they want to do when they get home from school is hold him.

Having a newborn makes everything better (a little harder, but a lot better). He might be small, but his spirit is mighty. He makes our home a more peaceful place. Everything moves a bit slower, which is always a good thing. I love it and I am doing my best to soak it up.

He's only been around for 2 weeks, but I already can't imagine our family without him.

  1. Such a cute lil' guy - and I vividly remember the days when I was stuck to the couch, nursing. Bravo to you for doing it, it's certainly tough...sometimes my daughter would latch on for like 5 hours straight. Hard work, indeed! I can't imagine doing that PLUS taking care of three other kids, your husband must be pretty amazing too. Congrats!

  14. Beautiful portrait, Leslie.
I once read that four children are wonderful, because it's twice what PC mandates, while filling up half the church pew.

  16. he is such a cutie. We are expecting our 3rd in September. Seeing pictures of Elliot makes me want to zoom to September now. But in reality we will need to September to prepare ourselves for the arrival of a 3rd child. Any advice?
